Safeguarding and protecting children, young people and vulnerable adults

Delivered fully online, this level three qualification is designed for people who have contact with children, young people or vulnerable adults in their working environment, including voluntary work.

This course teaches you how to recognise signs of abuse and neglect, and what preventative actions you can take. It also emphasises the importance of ensuring that safeguarding concerns are reported correctly, and acted upon appropriately.

A range of safeguarding subjects are covered in the syllabus including:

  • Safeguarding legislation and guidance

  • Indicators of abuse and neglect

  • Making judgements

  • Communication

  • Roles and responsibilities

  • Sharing of information

  • Dealing with and reporting of allegations and complaints

The total course takes eight hours to complete, which is made up of:

  • four hours of live Zoom training

  • four hours of self-study using the supplied resources.

Assessment takes place via a one to one Zoom session with an Assessor.

Successful candidates will be awarded a national Level 3 qualification in Principles of Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults .
